31 July 2001 - Hoo Hing appear on BBC 2 with Ainsley Harriott

On 14 May 2001, we had the pleasure of serving Ainsley Harriott at our Chadwell Heath cash and carry. Ainsley came with the BBC who were filming for the Friends for Dinner programme. The programme focuses on home cooking where top chefs take cooking enthusiasts through the whole process of preparing the perfect meal. From choosing the menu, running through cooking techniques and searching local stores such as Hoo Hing for the perfect ingredients. The BBCs interest in Hoo Hing came about because of our range of Japanese foods and our location in Essex. The programme was broadcast at 8:30pm on Tuesday 31 July 2001 on BBC 2 where Ainsley set the challenge for Jason O'Shea to make Sushi and Tempura from scratch.

The highlight of the day for our staff was when Ainsley took time out from filming to do some shopping and spend time with our Chadwell Heath team. He kindly signed autographs and posed for photographs with our staff who were delighted to meet him. Scroll down this page to see photos from the day.
